TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS
Visual Storytelling for Impact
Great stories help people understand, remember, and care.
Photography has the power to communicate what words alone cannot. A memorable image can reveal the urgency of a cause, the human stories behind the programs, and the realities that lie beyond numbers.
This training is designed for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations that want to strengthen the way they tell stories through photography.
Participants will learn to:
Build trust with communities as the foundation for authentic storytelling.
Identify stories with strong visual potential.
Create impactful images using DSLR cameras or smartphones.
Strengthen composition, lighting, visual language, and the emotional impact of their images.
Apply ethical principles, including informed consent, safeguarding, and responsible representation.
Explore decolonial approaches and challenge common stereotypes in humanitarian and development storytelling.
