Food security project
in northern Kenya
The Finnish Caritas and Inter-Cultur food security project in northern Kenya provides vital livelihoods to the food crisis-stricken Turkana region. The project supports women's livelihoods and food security by establishing savings groups and training women in goat farming, basket weaving, beekeeping and honey production. The baskets produced in the project travel from Turkana to the world through the Finnish company Mifuko, connecting traditional craft with international demand.
